President Liu Jizhen was Re-elected as Deputy President of CSPE

    The Sixth Member Congress of Chinese Society of Power Engineering (CSPE) was conducted in Shanghai on November 26th-27th. After the election in the Sixth Congress and the first meeting of the 10th Council, Huang Dinan, the Chairman of Shanghai Electric Group Company, was elected as the President of the 10th Council. Liu Jizhen, President of NCEPU, was continuously elected as the Deputy President of the 10th Council. Besides, Yang Yongping, Vice-President of NCEPU, and Professor Ding Changfu were elected as members of the 10th Council. 

    CSPE is the academic mass organization of national scientific and technological researchers on Power Engineering, which is a component of China Association for Science and Technology (CAST). The predecessor is the Turbine and Boiler Society of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society which was established in 1962 and renamed as Power Engineering Society of Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society in 1979. In December, 1988, it was approved to become the national first-class society by State Scientific and Technological Commission, which is called CSPE. The Member Congress of CSPE is held once every five years.
    In this Member Congress, Members, Executive Members, President, Deputy President, and Secretary-general of the 10th Council of CSPE were elected, and the Directors of Working Committee, Treasurer, Deputy Secretary-general and Specialized Committee Members were approved. The congress reviewed and approved the Report on the Work of the 9th Council of CSPE, Constitution of Chinese Society of Power Engineering (Draft), and Financial Report of the 9th Council of CSPE, etc. Moreover, Academician Yue Guangxi from Tsinghua University and Professor Zhao Qinxin from Xi’an Jiaotong University were invited to give them special academic reports.
