“Green Power”New Energy Poverty Alleviation Pilot Project Achieved Silver Award of First China Young Volunteer Service Project Competition

    The First China Young Volunteer Service Project Competition, co-hosted by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League(CYL), Ministry of Civil Affairs, and China Volunteer Service Federation(CVF), dropped the curtain on December 4, which has set its theme of “ Young Volunteer Event, Co-construct China Dream.”Some leaders attended and awarded the representative prize-winners, including Liu Qi, former Committee Member of CPC Central Committee Political Bureau and Chairman of CVF, Gong Puguang, Vice Minister of Civil Affiars, He Junke, Administrative Secretary of CYL Central Committee, and Lv Shiming, Vice President of China Disabled Person Federation, etc. “Green Power”new energy poverty alleviation pilot project recommended by Baoding campus of NCEPU has received National Silver Award. 
    The Review Committee of the national competition has invited more than 30 experts of volunteer service sector to carry out the information evaluation, spot enquiry, and comprehensive assessment for the 505 projects which have passed the preliminary exam from 38 provincial units. Through the review, the Committee elected the Golden Prize and Silver Prize on December 1st and 2nd. 

    In recent years, surrounding closely the demand of national energy strategy, the university has carried out the Three-step Development Strategy of “Green Power”new energy poverty alleviation on the basis of energy and power subjects advantage. Since the project’s launch in 2009, the “Green Power”new energy poverty alleviation project has benefited the area of tens of thousands kilometers, covering most of China. With the combination of new energy facility supply and poverty alleviation service by science and education, the university has achieved abundant results on providing light, civilization, and prosperity to the masses without electricity.  Generally speaking, NCEPU, as a responsible university, makes use of its own practical action to fulfill the social responsibility.
