Professor Li Yongping is elected as Distinguished Professor of Chang Jiang Scholars

    The Ministry of Education issued the results of Chang Jiang Scholars Program of 2014 several days ago. Li Yongping, Professor of Resource and Environment Research Institute at NCEPU, has been elected as the Chair Professor, which is the third Chang Jiang Scholars Chair Professor successfully declared by the university in the recent three years. Previously, in the list of 2011 and 2012 Chang Jiang Scholars Program, Professor Niu Dongxiao and Professor Xu Jinliang are elected as Chair Professor one after another.
    Chang Jiang Scholars Program plays an important role in national major talents project proposed and implemented by Minister of Education, which is aimed at strengthening high-level talents team development of higher universities, attracting and developing leading talents with international influence in their own sectors. National high-level talents development support system consists of Chang Jiang Scholars Program, Recruitment Program of Global Experts, and Youth Elite Development Program, etc. Compared with Recruitment Program of Global Experts, Chang Jiang Scholars Program focuses on selecting domestic elites. 

    Professor Li Yongping, Executive Vice Dean, Ph.D Supervisor of Resource and Environment Research Institute, has achieved Master and Ph.D Degrees at Canada Regina University. Professor Li engages in risk analysis and optimal management research of Resource and Environment System, leads his team in undertaking the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, National Science and Technology Major Project, sub-project of 973 Program, general projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China, chief projects, public welfare programs of Ministry of Water Resources, and other fund subjects, takes charge of and participates in international cooperation projects of UNDP and Environment Canada, and has issued 185 SCI theses, 2000 SCI citations, 1200 SCI other citations, and 25 H Factor. Besides, she received the National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, Science and Technology Award for Chinese Youth, the 11th China Young Female Scientist Award, the Distinguished Young Scientists Award of International Society for Environmental Science, Outstanding Graduates Award of Canada Regina University, First Prize of Natural Science of Ministry of Education (MOE), New Century Talents Scheme of MOE, and Overseas Outstanding Fee-paying International Student Award of MOE, etc. Moreover, Professor Li is the Chairman of sub-conference of International Society, international expert of water security field of UNDP, Associate Editor of a international SCI magazine, Invited Editor of five international SCI magazines, and Editorial Board Member of eight domestic and overseas magazines.
