NCEPU Selected in EU-China Research and Innovation Partnership Program

    The EU-China Research and Innovation Partnership Program was signed on December 29, 2014. North China Electric Power University (NCEPU), as one of the cooperation units in China, was selected in it. This program will be carried out on March 15, 2015, and it will last 42 months. The EU-China Partnership Program was initiated by EU and aimed to enhance network cooperation and partnership between EU and China as well as other forms of interaction on scientific research and innovation. The program serves mainly to finance the doctors, post doctorates and scholars of EU to come to China and conduct high-level scientific researches in universities and scientific research institutes, so as to establish and enhance the long-term strategic cooperation between research communities of EU and research institutes and universities in China.
    In May, 2014, the University of Manchester leaded and united EU well-known universities, such as University of Bologna (Università di Bologna), Norwegian University of Science and Technology (Norges teknisk-naturvitenskapelige universitet), University of Zagreb (Sveu？ilište u Zagrebu), and Chinese partners such as Tsinghua University, NCEPU, Beijing Jiaotong University as well as State Grid Research Institute, to jointly declare the EU-China Research and Innovation Partnership Program-.The first program they applied jointly is the solution of renewable energy resources and efficiency as well as urban sustainable energy. Professor Yang Yongping, on behalf of NCEPU, served as the project manager, to organize and coordinate the related schools and departments. Through the fierce competition, NCEPU’s group won at last, and the Chinese Coordination Center was set up in NCEPU.
    The success of NCEPU’s selection into this program demonstrates our overall strength on scientific research, especially in the field of the renewable energy resources and efficiencies which had been recognized by international notable universities. Meanwhile, it also showed that our internationalization had stepped into a new stage of development, within a period of united cooperation between NCEPU and the world famous universities, which would necessarily promote the scientific research and international exchange to a higher level.
