Professor Li Yongping Won the 11th China Female Scientist Awards

    The awards ceremony of the 11th China Female Scientist Awards,co-hosted by All-China Women's Federation (ACWF), China Association for Science and Technology, China National Commission for UNESCO and L'Oréal China,was held in Beijing on January 16, 2015. Professor Li Yongping from Environmental Research Center of NCEPU was presented with the prize, and it was the first time for NCEPU to win the award since the awards established.

    The China Female Scientist Awards, known as the “Nobel Prize” for young women scientists in China, were established by the ACWF, the China Association for Science and Technology, the China National Commission for UNESCO and L'Oreal China to encourage Chinese women science and technology researchers who have made outstanding and creative achievements in basic and life sciences. This annual event presented awards to a maximum of 10 winners each year. The China Female Scientist Awards Committee was composed of 41 academicians, and there were 183 validly candidates recommended by 111 units and 22 experts. 
    Professor Li Yongping earned her master’s and doctorate degrees at the University of Regina, and served as the Distinguished Professor of Yangtze River Scholar, as well as the winner of National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars. She was mainly engaged in the risk analysis of resources and environmental system as well as the study on optimal management, and had received the Outstanding Youth Scientists of ISEIS, the Excellent Graduate of Regina University, Canada, the First Class Award of Natural Science Prize in University of Ministry of Education of China, New Century Excellent Talents in University of Ministry of Education of China, and the Award for Outstanding Self-Financed Students Abroad from the Ministry of Education of China.
