President Liu Met the Visiting Delegation of the University of Manchester

    On March 2, 2015, President Liu Jizhen of North China Electric Power University (NCEPU) met the visiting delegation composed of Pr. Steve Flint, vice president of the University of Manchester, Pr. Tony Brow, dean of Electrical Engineering Department and Pr. Wang Zhongdong. The attendants also included Pr. Yang Yongping, vice president of NCEPU, Mr. Duan Chunming, division chief of International Cooperation Department, and Mr. Li Qingmin, head of International Education School.

    President Liu expressed his warmly welcome to the delegation of the University of Manchester. He noted that the cooperation between NCEPU and the University of Manchester had been maintained for several years, and the two universities had achieved fruitfully in many fields. Both universities had not only jointly cultivated a lot of excellent students, but also made an in-depth cooperation on teacher training and scientific research. President Liu strengthened that the leaders of NCEPU attached great attention to the cooperation with the University of Manchester, and believed that both sides could gain greater achievements in the near future.
    Steve Flint said that since start of the cooperation between two universities in 2006, the relationship had been maintained nearly ten years up to now. During this period, the faculty and students exchanged frequently, and had achieved greatly in scientific research cooperation and talent cultivation. Nowadays, the University of Manchester hoped to further promote the cooperation with NCEPU to a new stage.     Mr. Dai Songyuan, president of School of Renewable Energy, Mr.Du Xiaoze, vice president of School of Energy and Power Engineering, Mr.Liu Chongru, assistant to the president of School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, and Mr. Wang Xiangke, director of Department of Environmental Science and Engineering made reports respectively from the aspects of the present situation of student training, the discipline construction and the scientific research.
