An Liansuo, Vice President of NCEPU, received the guests. Also present were Duan Chunming, Director of the International Cooperation Department, Xu Lingling, Communist Party Secretary of the School of Foreign Languages, and Dai Zhongxin, a professor from the School of Foreign Languages.

An Liansuo expressed his warm welcome to the visiting guests, saying that their visit last year had opened the preclude to the cooperation between the two universities, and the purpose of this visit was to increase the strength and breadth of cooperation between the two universities. Kay Norton was also very glad to have this opportunity to revisit NCEPU, saying that UNC attached great importance to their cooperation with NCEPU. UNC and NCEPU have carried out multi-leveled exchanges and cooperation. The two universities then briefly introduced their school’s history, present situation and development prospect.

An Liansuo said that NCEPU intended to start substantial cooperation with UNC in five aspects. Firstly, NCEPU will continue with the student exchange programs, exploring more joint education programs, such as the 2+2 mode. Secondly, NCEPU will select and assign some teachers and administrative staff to study or work in UNC. Thirdly, excellent students from UNC are welcome to study in NCEPU under the mechanism of the Sino-US culture exchange. Fourthly, some excellent teachers and students from UNC are welcome to work in the Middle School Affiliated to NCEPU. Finally, UNC professors can come to NCEPU for academic exchange. Satisfied with these proposals, Kay Norton promised to start all the programs as soon as possible.

Both sides had an intensive discussion regarding the above proposals, hoping that the UNC visit would further promote multi-leveled cooperation of the two universities.
