On May 14, the opening ceremony of the 2015 series of two-week seminars on operation and management of Tanzania electric power system was held on the Baoding Campus of North China Electric Power University (NCEPU). It is sponsored by Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and organized by NCEPU. Twenty colleagues of electrical engineering from Tanzania attended the ceremony, together with Xu Lilin, Director of the International Cooperation Department of Department of Commerce of Hebei Province, Wang Zengpin, Vice President of NCEPU, some administrators from the President Office, the International Cooperation Department and the School of Business Administration, and some teacher representatives.

Xu Lilin said in his speech that training as international aid has been a bridge for the promotion of friendship and cooperation between China and other developing countries. NCEPU, the training institution, is the only key university in the area of electric power directly under the Ministry of Education of the People’s Republic of China. Equipped with a comprehensive major coverage, adequate facilities for teaching and scientific research, outstanding faculty and prominent research achievements, NCEPU has successfully undertaken several technical training programs for international aid and gained rich experience in international training. He believed that members of the seminar will certainly benefit from the courses well prepared by NCEPU and play an important role in the promotion of the efficiency of electric power production in Tanzania and in the promotion of safe, economic and efficient operation of the electric power system so as to further develop the electric power industry in Tanzania.
