A delegation led by NCEPU President Liu Jizhen visited three universities in Poland and Denmark

  From October 13 to 18, a delegation led by NCEPU President Liu Jizhen visited three high-level universities of engineering science: Wroclaw University of Technology and Warsaw University of Technology in Poland, as well as Technical University of Denmark. The delegation received warm welcome from related staff in the three universities and Chinese Embassy in Denmark. Exchanges and cooperation between NCEPU and the universities in Poland and Denmark have been promoted by the visit under the “Belt and Road” Initiative. The delegation also included Wang Qinghua—the assistant to the president, Duan Chunming—director of International Cooperation Department, Professor Xu Hong in School of Energy, Power and Mechanical Engineering, and Professor Liu Yongqian in School of Renewable Energy.

  In Wroclaw University of Technology of Poland, the history, current situation, and development prospect of the university were introduced by the president Prof. Cezary Madryas. He expressed the hope to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with NCEPU teachers and students. The advantages in renewable energy sources of the two universities should be given full play and an international cooperation platform taken new energy researches as key task could be jointly established, he suggested.

  The two sides signed Cooperation Agreement between North China Electric Power University and Wroclaw University of Technology and Agreement to establish China-Poland Energy Innovation Center jointly by North China Electric Power University and Wroclaw University of Technology . Then the delegation visited School of Mechanical Engineering and School of Electrical Engineering as well as their laboratories. They also made exchanges and discussions with related experts and scholars of the university.

  In Warsaw University of Technology of Poland, Vice-president Prof. Krzysztoef Leuenstein said that NCEPU delegation’s visit would kick off and propel the comprehensive cooperation between NCEPU and Warsaw University of Technology in such a friendly atmosphere when Chinese President Xi Jinping visited Poland this year and successfully strengthened the bilateral ties. The two sides reached broad consensus to establish close cooperation relations and planned to sign a cooperative agreement as soon as possible. Then the delegation visited School of Electrical Engineering, School of Power and Aerospace Engineering, as well as the laboratories. The two sides also made in-depth exchanges on topics, among others, engines and clean energies with related experts and scholars of the university.

  In Technical University of Denmark and Riso National Laboratory, head of Wind Power Department Prof. Peter HougeModsen and Electrical Engineering Department Prof. Kristian ElmholdtStubkjar introduced their work in discipline, teaching, and researches. They noted that NCEPU fitted with their departments in term of subject and major setup, which laid a solid foundation for further cooperation. They also expressed the hope that both sides could soon establish a stable cooperation in the long-term. Then the delegation visited Riso National Laboratory in Denmark and learned the related technology on Danish wind power generation and grid connection.

  The visit made by President Liu Jizhen represents a major action of NCEPU on international exchanges and cooperation responding to the “Belt and Road” Initiative. The exchanges and cooperation in technology and talent cultivation between NCEPU and European universities will be promoted during the process. The visit also has active significance to facilitate international cooperation of new energy industry.
