NCEPU Held the Chinese-Foreign University Presidents Forum Themed in Energy Revolution and University Responsibility

On October 27^th, North China Electric Power University (NCEPU) held the Chinese-Foreign University Presidents Forum themed in Energy Revolution and University Responsibility. Representatives of higher education field from 23 partner universities in 15 countries, including National Research University Moscow Power Engineering Institute, Mongolian University of Science and Technology, Bath University, Purdue University, Darmstadt University of Technology, and China University of Mining and Technology, as well as Representatives of government, industry association, international organizations and enterprises from Department of International Cooperation and Exchanges of the Ministry of Education, China Scholarship Council, China Education Association for International Exchange, Global Energy Interconnection Development and Cooperation Organization, China Electricity Council, and Cooperation Consortium of Beijing High Technology Universities, gathered at NCEPU to discuss the responsibility and innovation of universities in energy transformation and energy revolution. The forum was presided over by Mr. Wang Zengping, Vice President of NCEPU.

Mr. Yang Yongping, President of our school and President of the forum, pointed out in his speech that an important symbol of the new round energy revolution is the all-round transformation of energy, mainly embodied in a shift to low-carbon and clean transformation, distributed transformation and intelligent transformation. In this process, universities around the world must join hands to actively undertake the responsibility and mission of promoting global energy revolution, establishing energy interconnection, promoting wider international energy cooperation, and promoting wider range, higher level and more profound opening-up in energy field, in order to cultivate personnel for building and leading “the community of shared future” as well as to provide fundamental services and support. NCEPU sincerely looks forward to strengthening in-depth education, science and technology, cultural exchanges and cooperation with international partner universities. We will construct the high-level international joint training platforms, science and technology cooperation platforms, and school-enterprise cooperation platforms. Facing the demand of developing green, secure, high-efficient, and intelligent energy and power, we will formulate a first-class international energy education system, cultivate personnel with a global vision and international competitiveness as well as the capabilities of global energy governance and the cravings for improving human well-being. In addition, we will work together to build the community of shared future and create a “peaceful, tranquil, prosperous, open and beautiful world”.

Ms. Liu Jin, Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of the Ministry of Education (Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs), Mr. Zhao Lingshan, Secretary-General and Vice President of China Education Association for International Exchange, and Mr. Zhang Ning, Vice Secretary-General of China Scholarship Council delivered the speeches respectively.

The main topic of the Chinese-Foreign University Presidents Forum was “Energy Revolution and University Responsibility”. Participants focused on the sub-topics of energy revolution and school mission innovation, energy revolution and talents training system innovation, energy revolution and scientific research system innovation, energy revolution and school-enterprise cooperation innovation, energy revolution and international cooperation in higher education, conducting heated discussion and in-depth exchange.
